Welcome to Distributed IRC
Distributed IRC is an attempt to remove centralized control from the
Internet Relay Chat system. The current version allows chatting between
any two nodes and guarentees anonymity and security. DIRC makes use of
public key encryption to ensure your chat session cannot be spyed upon. To
join DIRC you need to download the software, install it and find at least
one other node that is already on DIRC. This will become easier when the
current development version becomes stable which supports traditional IRC
channels. Until then (probably tommorrow) you can grab the
latest version
(0.2.1) and connect to 192.186.4.52:5550 (which may or may not work). You
will need to know the nick
of someone else on DIRC to chat with them.
